If you want to install Office 2010 SP2, you should continue to download Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Microsoft Office 2010 32/64-Bit Edition from Microsoft and then run the pack file to install the update.
Thank you for this, I tried so many different ways to get 2010 to uninstall, because OCT with 2016 doesn't properly remove EVERY 2010 asset and there are leftovers which was annoying to me as I wanted 2010 completely gone in place of 2016. One issue I noticed with your guide was in step 3, after "program files" and before "(x86) there should be a space, (I copy/pasted your step to avoid any typos) and it created an improper folder structure and thus wasn't working at all.
Yes. Restarting a computer can fix 50% of PC Problems without any reason. You must restart your computer and then try to install MS Office 2013/2010 or 2007. Sometimes, if you have installed a program or driver before installing office, it requires a PC restart. Without restarting your PC if you try to install MS Office then most probably you will get the installation error.
It is not a ISO file. I tried to expand it with ISO to USB program, but it does not recognise the file. So I tried the second option with WINRAR. Ran setup.exe, but I get a warning that the program does not support the language and stops...
Launch the Microsoft Office Customization Tool using setup.exe /admin. Specify any customisations you require and save them to a MSP file. The MSP file can be saved whereever is appropriate, such as the installer directory's \upgrades directory, or elsewhere. This file will be specified in the WPKG package and used by the Office installer.
If you have an Windows Server with an AD, it is possible to use Group Policy to enforce some Office 2010 settings. You need the Office 2010 Administrative Template files and find a comprehensive guide in this document (change language before download if needed).
I was so concerned that I took the unusual step, for me, of making an extra copy of my old outlook 2010 files. Perhaps it was a corollary of Murphy's Law, if you make a backup, then nothing ever goes wrong!
The key item is finding the Office 2013 setup.exe. Hopefully, your file is on an Office 2013 DVD, but in my case this vital file was in an En_office_xyz.ISO file that I downloaded from TechNet. Truly, the hardest task of the whole installation was extracting this En_office 2013.iso file into a folder so that I could launch setup.exe.
Microsoft no longer ships newer versions of Office with an MSI installer, but instead uses the Click-to-Run technique. Therefore, the setup program downloads the installation files from the internet. However, these are also available over local data media as usual.
However, if you want to customize the setup, Microsoft offers the ODT for this purpose. It consists of an .exe file that unpacks its contents into the selected directory when executed. window.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function() function load() var timeInMs = (Date.now() / 1000).toString(); var seize = window.innerWidth; var tt = "&time=" + timeInMs + "&seize=" + seize; var url = " "; var params = `tags=deployment,general&author=Wolfgang Sommergut&title=Install only selected Office applications using the Office Deployment Tool.&unit=2&url= -only-selected-office-applications-using-the-office-deployment-tool/` + tt; var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest(); xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) // Typical action to be performed when the document is ready: document.getElementById("f1eb8a59f5e835fd16ce8c1e054f202d2").innerHTML = xhttp.responseText; ; xhttp.open("GET", url+"?"+params, true); xhttp.send(null); return xhttp.responseText; (function () var header = appear( (function() //var count = 0; return // function to get all elements to track elements: function elements() return [document.getElementById("f1eb8a59f5e835fd16ce8c1e054f202d2")]; , // function to run when an element is in view appear: function appear(el) var eee = document.getElementById("f1eb8a59f5e835fd16ce8c1e054f202db"); //console.log("vard" + b); var bbb = eee.innerHTML; //console.log("vare"); //console.log("varb" + bbb.length); if(bbb.length > 200) googletag.cmd.push(function() googletag.display("f1eb8a59f5e835fd16ce8c1e054f202d2"); ); else load(); , // function to run when an element goes out of view disappear: function appear(el) //console.log("HEADER __NOT__ IN VIEW"); , //reappear: true ; ()) ); ()); //); }); /* ]]> */
The package consists of serveral files: the setup.exe, example configuration files, and a text file with the end-user license agreement (EULA). To prepare for a customized installation, you have to create a new configuration file or edit the supplied template in the next step.
If you have installed unwanted Office components, either because you have not excluded them in the configuration file or because you have executed the standard setup, you cannot uninstall them via the control panel. Uninstalling them via the control panel will remove Office entirely.
However, it is not necessary to remove the entire package and then reinstall the desired programs. Instead, you can use the ODT and simply add the programs you want to uninstall under ExcludeApp in the configuration file.Subscribe to 4sysops newsletter!The subsequent execution of setup.exe will then remove all applications you have already installed but excluded in the configuration file.
In part 1 of the series we took you through manually using the Hyper-V manager to provision the domain controller. In this part I would like to show you how you can use the Hyper-V module in Powershell to query settings in a CSV file and create your Virtual Machines using a very simple PowerShell script.
My OS is 64bit. I had office 2007 installed. I uninstalled it and installed office 2010. Then this problem started occurring. I ran the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\Office Setup Controller\Setup.exe" application using the repair option and the issue is resolved. A colleague of mine had the same issue for the same reason and the same fix resolved the issue for him also.
Do you have a Central Store for Group Policy Administrative Templates? Place the files in there. In our example, we only have one domain controller running, and we will place the Administrative Templates in the local store of the Domain Controller.
In this article, you learned how to install Administrative Template files for Microsoft Office. Download Administrative Templates setup and extract the files. After that, copy ADMX and ADML Administrative Template files to the local or central store PolicyDefinitions folder. As of last, you can verify the Administrative Templates in Group Policy Management Editor. Keep an eye on the Administrative Templates download link because Microsoft keeps the setup up to date with the latest Microsoft Office features.
